Staff in the Department of Exercise, Nutrition and Health Sciences conduct research that focuses on physical activity and nutrition, and their associations with health across the lifespan. The primary areas of focus include biomedical, psychosocial, and socio-environmental aspects of physical activity and nutrition.
Research is based exclusively on the impact of physical activity and nutrition on public health throughout the lifespan. Specific themes include physical activity and nutrition in relation to mental health, metabolic disease and public policy. A recent focus on physical activity and the built environment has extended the work of the group beyond improving lifestyle at the individual level to the role that features of neighbourhoods have on activity patterns and food intake.
Please see our website for further information on our research and staff research interests.
