Postgraduate research in The School of Clinical Veterinary Science is undertaken on the Langford campus, 20 km from Bristol. The Langford campus houses a large number of research groups within the School of Clinical Veterinary Science together with Langford (Clinical) Services as well as the University farm.
The strength of the School's research programme is greatly enhanced by its position within the Faculty of Medical and Veterinary Sciences and active collaborations exist with members of Cellular and Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry and Biological Sciences.
The Department of Clinical Veterinary Science consists of three divisions: Companion Animal Studies, Farm Animal Science and Veterinary Pathology, Infection and Immunity. In order to maximise our research potential, research activity in the School is focused on four research themes that encompass both clinical excellence and strong basic science. These are:
* Animal Behaviour and Welfare
* Infection and Immunity
* Cross-disciplinary research including Matrix Biology, Food Science and Clinical Research
Within these themes, work extends from the fundamental to the applied and the participating groups interact with other groups in the Faculty building on a policy of integration of basic science and veterinary activities.
