The doctorate in Humanities is in keeping with the most innovative lines of research in the last twenty years in the fields of art, literature and thought: from the aesthetics of reception and hermeneutic analysis to deconstruction, in addition to other of our own methodological orientations, resulting from each of the areas, which, despite each being specific in its own right, will be constantly contrasted and related transversally allowing a fresh look at the subjects of study. The lines of research coincide with those of the master's degree in Art, Literature and Thought, as well as with those pursued by the University Institute of Culture and the Department of Humanities at UPF.
Objectives The main objective of this programme is to train students to advanced level in the humanities. Students are provided with the necessary instruments to be able to further both their academic training in general and prepare for research in the fields of art, literature and thought. The design of this programme comes in response to the interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary structure that the Department of Humanities and the University Institute of Culture provide in order to promote comparative studies in each of the fields, as well as the possible relationships that might exist between them.
