Our PhD Finance specialises in econometric methods, behavioural finance, corporate finance, banking and international finance and risk management. As well as providing a programme of training and events focussing on a range of quantitative methods available to explore markets and financial assets, our doctoral students have the opportunity to engage with practitioners through events and seminars that actively encourage reflection and interaction on the current economic climate, such as the seminar series focussing on risk management in the banking sector.
During your three-year programme, you follow a ‘three paper’ thesis, where three research articles will be produced, framed by an introduction and conclusion. You are encouraged submit your papers to conferences and for publication in international journals with the support of their supervisors. With an enviable rate of successful doctoral completion within a four-year period and recent graduates are currently working for the Royal Bank of Scotland, Price Waterhouse Coopers, University of Bristol, University of Southampton, University of St Andrews, Xiamen University, and South China University, among others, our banking and finance group has a strong record in doctoral education.
We also offer an MPhil and a Masters by dissertation in this subject.
