The doctoral programme is conducted entirely in English and will be taught by members of the university´s multi-national faculty.
The programme is built around two fields of specialization: Behavioural Economics and Management and International Economics and Management.

Students follow a common core curriculum in the first semester and specialised courses in the second semester.
The second and third years involve seminar participation, tutorials and a dissertation. It is possible to spend up to one year working in a research centre in Italy and/or abroad.
To be admitted to the 2nd year of the Doctoral Programme, the student must pass the exams of the 1st year courses with "B" as minimum evaluation score.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
More informationApplications are invited from candidates, regardless of gender, age and nationality, who hold an Italian"laurea specialistica (magistrale)", instituted in conformity with Ministerial Decree no. 509 of November 3,1999, a university degree of the previous regulations, or an equivalent degree obtained abroad.
Applicants holding a foreign degree not officially recognized as equivalent to the Italian "laurea", must explicitly request recognition of equivalence in their application by including:
1. the degree certificate or, in the case of E.U.-citizens, a self-certification (according to Presidential Decree no. 445 of December 28, 2000);
2. the English translation of the degree certificate with exams taken and grades obtained, signed under their own responsibility, to enable the Graduate School Committee to declare its equivalence, valid solely for the purpose of admission to the selection process.
Admitted non-E.U. applicants holding a non-Italian qualification and admitted E.U. applicants holding a non-E.U. qualification must also present their degree certificate along with exams taken and grades, translated and authenticated by an Italian consulate, embassy or diplomatic representative in the country where the degree was issued, and the respective declaration of validity ("Dichiarazione di Valore"), not later than the 10th of November 2010.
A prerequisite to be admitted to the selection is the knowledge of the English language at least C1 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment (CEFR).
C1 level corresponds to Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English" (CAE), to a TOEFL IBT minimum score 110 or an IELTS minimum score 7.0.
The global descriptor (the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) states the following features in relation to the C1 level:
· Can understand a wide range of demanding, longer texts, and recognise implicit meaning.
· Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously without much obvious searching for expressions.
· Can use language flexibly and effectively for social, academic and professional purposes.
· Can produce clear, well-structured, detailed text on complex subjects, showing controlled use of organisational patterns, connectors and cohesive devices.
Applications are also invited from students who expect to complete their degree by the 31st of July 2010. In case of admission it will be "conditional" and the applicant must be able to present the relevant degree certificate, or a declaration that the degree has been conferred (in compliance with Presidential Decree no. 445 of 28th of December 2000, applicable only to citizens of the European Union), by the 30th of September 2010.
