1. Description of DSP studies
The studies in doctoral study programme (DSP) are designed for graduates who accomplished their studies with the state examination in the specialization continued in their doctoral programme or in another related area of interest. The primary objective of the doctoral study programme is to provide graduates with skills in scientific research by carrying out and defending their doctoral dissertation, through publications and other forms of presentations of their research including assigned tests and examinations and a state doctoral examination. DSP graduates obtain the academic title of "Doctor of Philosophy" ( Ph.D., used behind the name).
2. Forms of DSP studies
The studies in doctoral study programmes are organized in a full-time form and a combined form. The standard period of the programme is three years in both cases.
2.1. Full-time form of DSP
is the primary form of the doctoral programme and also the main occupation of the course participant. The students are in a position of university students - it means certain advantages such as cheaper public transport, catering at students canteen, etc. Czech students, as well as foreign students studying in the Czech or in the English Languages who had obtained government scholarships according to bilateral agreements are provided the scholarship and they do not pay tuition fees. Candidates for the full-time form are admitted to the programme on the basis of their results of the admission procedure.
2.2. Combined form of DSP
is a form of doctoral programme designed especially for candidates who have already been emloyed or for employees of the faculty, who, however, remain in their existing positions. Candidates for the combined form are admitted on the basis of an admission procedure.

The admission procedure takes place before a panel of examiners appointed by the dean of the faculty and approved by the science committee. The committee consists of the leading faculty experts in the given field of study. The admission interview is taken individually for each subject of studies. The structure of subjects is specified in the programme for each area of studies. The candidates must show proficiency in two world languages in an interview with the appointed examiners at the department of languages. The candidate may be waived the language interview if he or she has passed a state examination in the relevant language, or, if prior to the admission procedure, he or she graduated at a secondary school or college in the particular language, or if the language is the candidate´s mother tongue.
The committee draws up a record of the admission procedure and the candidate is informed in writing about the result within ten days. The Candidates thereby admitted are also informed about the inauguration and they are assigned to a scientific supervisor.
