COMMON COMPETENCES ACHIEVED THROUGH THE PHD PROGRAMME IN PHYSICS:

The doctor of science will be capable of carrying out team work in the field of scientific research and development in both the university and industrial sectors, as well as to assume a coordinating and leading function.
PROGRAMME STRUCTURE
Phd programme in Physics lasts 3 years or 6 semesters and consists of:
o 2 obligatory courses (15 ECTS);
o individual research work (75 ECTS),
o obligatory and/or elective courses within modules PHYSICS (general)/ BIOPHYSICS / EDUCATIONAL PHYSICS (60 ECTS)
o preparation and defense of the Doctorial Thesis (30 ECTS)in total sum of 180 ECTS.
Each semester consists of 30 ECTS.
We offer more than 60 courses from the fields of Biophysics (theoretical, experimental, nanobiotechnology), Physics of complex systems, Soft Matter, Theoretical Physics, Econo- and Socio- Physics, Solid State Physics... as well as from Educational Physics.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
1. Successfully completed graduate of the second stage university programme in physics, assessed with 300 ECTS or successfully completed adequate study programmes in EU.
2. Successfully completed graduate university programme in physics - only for students from Slovenia.
3. Successfully completed master of science programme in physics - only for students from Slovenia.
