Location of University of Maribor

The 3rd cycle of study, i.e. doctoral programme `Economic and Business Sciences', comprises 4 courses. The students acquire the latest knowledge in economics and relevant research methodologies for the realization of their unique research potentials. From the very start, the students gain fundamental methodological knowledge for scientific research as well as for the solution of economic and business issues.

The doctoral programme offers a wide range of elective courses. Apart from the compulsory research methodology course, the students may choose three out of the following twelve elective courses:

1. Contemporary Trends in Economic Theory (Advanced Economics),

2. Economic Policy for Global Business,

3. Enterprise Policy and Strategic Management,

4. Entrepreneurship Studies,

5. International Economy,

6. Legal and Economic View of the EU Institutions and EU Corporate Law,

7. Management, Organisation and Informatics,

8. Marketing Theory,

9. Monetary and Financial Analysis,

10. Quantitative Methods in Economics and Business,

11. Research and Achievements in Accounting, Auditing and Business Taxation,

12. Technological Development and Entrepreneurial Environmental Protection.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Requirements

The enrolment into the postgraduate study programme Economic and Business Sciences (3rd level bologna study programme) is open to candidates who finished:

- A second-cycle degree programme (the Bologna master´s degree),

- A university undergraduate programme, verified before 11. 6. 2004,

- A specialization programme and a prior professional higher education programme if they meet the programme academic requirements of 36 ECTS credits.

Pursuant to the transfer criteria, students can enter the doctoral programme if they hold a master´s degree or have completed a specialization programme and a previous university programme. Upon entering the programme, students are awarded 60 ECTS credits pursuant to the law.
