The basic aim of the Ph.D. study program Law is to qualify researchers in the field of law that will be capable to develop and apply a new knowledge in this field. They will be have the highest qualification in profession and research for the lawyers in the field of civil, commercial, constitutional, public, EU and labor law. The most important goals of the Ph.D. study program Law are:
- to deepen the knowledge or to improve the previous legal knowledge;
- to educate the law students for independent, professionally critical and responsible work in a profession which demands the top level knowledge in the field of law;
- to include the law students in the in-depth research work in the field of law with application of research methods;
- to provide the law students with the most deepened knowledge in the fundamental and special fields of law;
- to introduce the law student to the work in a domestic and international environment;
- to build a consciousness of the meaning of law as an instrument of social regulation;
- to offer the law students the deepened knowledge on important elements of philosophy and theory of law;
- to improve the student's rhetorical skills;
- to strengthen and improve the feeling for proper perception and interpretation of legal norms and for justice and professional ethics;
- to offer the law students the necessary knowledge on legal methods and skills and to encourage their mobility; and
- to enable the law students to successfully shape their professional profile by selecting the legal subjects in the framework modules according to their preference.

Take testIn order to qualitify for the third-degree doctoral program Law the applicants shall meet the following requirenents:
a) a successfully completed second-degree study programme law;
b) a successfully completed four year university level study program (non-Bologne) worth 240 ECTS;
c) a successfully completed Masters study program (Bologne) worth 300 ECTS;
d) a successfully completed three years undergraduate study program and then specialisation study, both totalling 240 ECTS, and finished the folowing additional requirements from the second degree Law study program totalling 60 ECTS: Philosofy and Theory of Law (7 ECTS), Lex Mercatoria (7 ECTS), Judicial Protection of EC and EU Law (7 ECTS), Company Law and Trust Law (9 ECTS), Civil Law: Selected Topics (5 ECTS), Civil Procedure Law: Selected Topics (5 ECTS), Business and Compnay Law: Selected Topics (5 ECTS), Criminal Law: Selected Topics (5 ECTS), Labour Law and Social Security Law: Selected Topics (5 ECTS), Consitutional and Administrative Law and EU Law: Selected Topics (5 ECTS).
