The third level Slovene Language Studies program objective is to educate professional researchers in fields of Slovene literary studies, Slovene linguistics, and Slovene language and literature didactics. This study program will qualify professional researchers for independent development of new knowledge, and for solving the most demanding problems in the field.
Through this study program, the student acquires in-depth knowledge in specific fields of linguistics, literary studies and language and literature didactics, competencies in scholarly research methodology, and an adequate foundation for researching new linguistic, literary and didactic phenomena.The student acquires qualification for independent scholarly research work in the field of Slovene literary studies, Slovene linguistics, and Slovene language and literature didactic. He or she will acquire qualifications for independent methodological scholarly research, the capacity for critical thinking, and an innovative relationship to particular research fields.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.
Take testA candidate who has successfully completed the following may register in the 3rd level Slovene Language Studies:
- Study program at the 2nd level,
- University study program adopted before June 11th, 2004,
- Higher education professional study program adopted before June 11th, 2004, and study program for obtaining specialization. Before registration, these students are assigned study obligations in 48 ECTS ranging from the university single major program of the first level Slovene Language and Literature (Obligatory module 1: Language Norms and Regulation, 12 ECTS; Obligatory module 2: History of Linguistics, 12 ECTS; Obligatory module 8: Slovene Literature in the First Half of the 20th century (12 ECTS); Obligatory module 10: Slovene Literature After the Year 1950 (12 ECTS)),
- Study program of education for professions regulated by EU directions, or other Masters´ study program evaluated with 300 ECTS.
In case of limited admittance, candidate selection will be based upon:
· Study success (average grade) 70% and
· Diploma / Masters´ dissertation grade 30%.
