The PhD is normally a three-year research degree, and students write a thesis of up to 80,000 words (maximum) on an agreed philosophical topic.
The MPhil is normally a one-year research degree, and students write a dissertation of up to 60,000 words (maximum) on an agreed philosophical topic.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

A First or Second class UK honours degree, or equivalent is required.
Note: International students pursuing part-time programmes of study are not eligible for Tier 4 General Student) visas and must have alternative leave to remain in the UK if they intend to study at the University in person.
