Study Branches:
* The branch "Theory of Structures" is oriented towards structural analysis, concrete and masonry structures, steel and timber structures and testing methods.
* The branch "Water Management and Water Structures" concentrates on hydraulics, hydrology and technology of water, constructing of water structures, irrigation systems, sewage treatments plants and city network.
* The doctoral study programme "Building Constructions" is focused on mastering theoretical disciplines. The course covers structural analysis, environmental and energy design of buildings and construction management.
* "Building material engineering" specializes in physical and material engineering, structure and technology of building materials and redevelopment of buildings materials.
* The branch "Management and Economics of Firm" is directed towards the organization and planning of constructions, the economy of building enterprises, the economy of civil engineering and investment.

General Requirements:
The award MSc. or MEng degree, a transcript of Master courses completed. Applicants must have a GPA (grade-point average) over 80%, a successful entrance interview and a letter of recommendation from the previous university for the final arrangements and enrolment for the Ph.D. study. The doctoral study depends on the availability of a suitable supervisor within the selected topic of the research area and the possibility to participate in running research projects at departnements. Applicants are evaluated individually by the Deans Office and by a relevant department of the Faculty of Civil Engineering.
Language Requirements:
For international students who are willing to study the programme or course taught fully in English, a good command of English language is required. The required level of English has to be proved by a relevant certificate. For international students we offer several lectures in advanced or professional English and also basic courses and lectures taught in the Czech language during their whole studies within the complementary teaching activities at the Faculty of Civil Engineering. For international students who are willing to study Civil Engineering courses taught only in the Czech language a successful entrance examination in Czech for enrolment at the Faculty of Civil Engineering is required.
