The movement of leukocytes during immune and inflammatory responses is a carefully orchestrated process that ensures coordinated cellular migration in response to physiological and pathological cues. Our interest in this area has been prompted by the repeated observations of a link between chronic inflammatory pathologies, such as rheumatoid arthritis, and depressive illness.
We have received funding from the Sackler Foundation for a 3 year studentship to investigate what mechanisms link peripheral inflammation to inflammatory responses in the brain.
