The Quality of the Faculty
All Koç university Faculty members have PhDs from reputable PhD programs worldwide doing research that have international impact. Ourfaculty are research-oriented and publish in top marketing journals, and other top journals in their area of expertise. Additionally a number of Koç GSB Faculty are represented in editorial review board of top marketing journals.
Program Structure
Koç University PhD in Business Administration program has a flexible structure. PhD candidates can focus on consumer behavior, strategy, or modeling, and customize their course work accordingly. This customization may involve taking courses from related disciplines, including economics, and psychology. Additionally, our program requirements geared towards research focus and productivity.
Student Support
Koç GSB Faculty are dedicated to the training of Phd students, and collaborate with them on joint projects. Published papers that resulted from such collaborations attest to the success of this approach. In Koç PhD in BA program students have very limited teaching responsibilities. This allows them to develop their research skills without much distraction on their time.
For students interested in consumer behavior, we have a dedicated marketing lab with 21 lab stations. Data collection is simplified thanks to a specialized software that handles study announcements, participant sign-ups, and extra credit assignments.
Additionally, students are provided with a work area, a laptop, and sufficient financial support.
We emphasize a supportive culture among our PhD students, and focus on the collective success of the group rather than individual students. Resulting supportive social environment enables students to establish valuable relationships with their colleagues in the program.
Our Ph.D. in Business Administration program has a flexible and interdisciplinary structure. We offer specialization in three academic areas: Marketing, Operations and Information Systems, and Quantitative Methods. Within the Marketing area, students can focus on Consumer Behavior, Strategy, or Quantitative Modeling.
The first two years will include course work with a first year summer paper, and qualifying exams upon the completion of the course work at the end of the second year. The PhD program has in place arrangements that allow qualified students who have completed their first year of course work, to spend one or two semesters as an exchange student (for their second year coursework) at selected world class European or American universities.
You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.
Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

When your application is completed, you will be called for an interview and those who are accepted are informed promptly. The admission decision is based on a consideration of the whole application record and the interview results.

The Ph.D. program in Business Administration at Koç University is a full time program. All students admitted to the program qualify for our full tuition scholarship and adequate financial support to cover living costs for four years. Admitted students who are provided with a full scholarship are expected to work as teaching and research assistants. Students may also be offered partial scholarships. Additionally, students receive private health insurance and housing. They are provided dedicated offices (next to the faculty) and a desktop computer.
