Cranfield University is seeking a motivated graduate to undertake an exciting research opportunity as part of a project within Cranfield University’s Integrated Vehicle Health Management (IVHM) Centre.
This research aims to develop a prognostics-enabled through-life support methodology and a decision support system that will aid the maintenance of sensors and electronics in radar systems.
This will be done by exploiting the operational and circuit data of the sub-systems to perform condition monitoring and health assessment of radar systems. Using existing operational and circuit data eliminates the need for additional sensor and data acquisition equipment to implement predictive health management on radar sensors and electronic systems.
The research will involve significant collaboration with industry and the opportunity to work with Thales UK Ltd.
IVHM technology informs existing concepts of vehicle maintenance, repair and overhaul by offering a total health check for high-tech, high-value vehicles such as aircraft, ships, high-speed trains and high-performance cars.
Cranfield University’s (IVHM) Centre, a pioneering centre of excellence with core partners Boeing, BAE Systems, Rolls-Royce, Meggitt and Thales.
