The EDBA Program welcomes candidates who are interested in conducting some original research project in the field of business, management, finance, or international trade. In contrast to master of business administration programs, doctor of business administration programs lay stress on applying the gained knowledge and skills through carrying out an independent research project on a methodologically rigorous basis. Our EDBA Program has an edge over other similar programs in that we nurture, encourage and develop participants’ competences of problem-solving, cause-effect analysis, and strategic planning. We expect our graduates not only to proudly join international associations of DBA holders, or critically reflect upon their own business experience, but also enter a qualitatively new level of understanding of difficulties at their workplaces and have enough intellectual courage and acumen to see how these may be resolved.

We warmly welcome applications from C-level executives, i.e. Chief Executive, Accounting, Operational, Financial, Administrative, Technology and Information Officers of various firms and companies, from Board Chairmen, Heads of departments, Marketing and Financial Directors, graduates of EMBA programs, and others. We realize only too well that these people are busy and have tight schedules. To allow them to fulfill their dreams about earning a DBA degree we designed our Executive Doctor of Business Administration Program in the least troublesome and most efficient way possible for our candidates.

Contents

The Program consists of two years of studies divided into four semesters. A semester has two modules lasting for five days each. At the end of the last eighth module a program participant is supposed to present a research paper. The grade received for the research paper will figure on the final diploma. Those who intend to continue into the PhD studies will use their research papers as drafts of their PhD theses. During the two years of studies our EDBA Program will cover many fascinating topics and themes. Here is a list of them:

§ Financial Market Instruments

§ Market Strategies

§ Theoretical and Practical Aspects of Market Management

§ New Era of Innovation

§ Strategic Research and Analysis

§ Strategy Implementation for Gaining a Competitive Advantage

§ Human Resources

§ Knowledge Management

§ Behavioral Theory of Decision Making

§ Leadership

§ Mentoring, Coaching

§ Negotiation Techniques

§ Purchase – Consumer Decisions

§ Hazard and Risk

§ Company Value Management

§ Contemporary IT Technologies

§ Contemporary Management Concepts

§ Life Plans and Personal Development of CEOs

§ Health and Well-Being

§ Entertainment

§ Corporate Communication

§ Family Business

§ Philanthropy

§ Creativeness

§ Politics and World Affairs

§ Crisis Management

§ Goal - Passion - Ethics

Which course finds itself in a given module is decided at the beginning of the semester. All the courses involve homework and distance learning. EDBA delegates stay in regular contact with their lecturers. The structure of the Program allows for flexibility and for direct application of knowledge and skills, gained during modules, at work. You do not come to us to learn more, you come to overhaul your entire approach to doing business, to revise your fundamental principles regarding economic management, and find out how you can realize your new insights in practice, winning other people to your side.

INE PAN also runs a special cultural program for EDBA delegates. The participation in the cultural program is not obligatory. It is just great fun! The purpose of the cultural program is two-fold. The program introduces the delegates, especially international ones, to the history and cultural heritage of the Polish people. It also serves as a catalyst for helping particpants get to know each other. In practice a typical module looks like that:

Wednesday:

AM: delegate arrivals

PM: classes, module welcome dinner

Thursday:

classes, Polish language lessons

Friday:

classes, meetings with Ambassadors, Directors of Chambers of Commerce, Polish businessmen, etc.

Saturday:

classes, cultural program (either city bus tour, museum visit, concert, etc.)

Sunday:

classes and departures

The cultural program will respond to the interests of EDBA delegates and will feature what most delegates find fascinating. What delegates will do within the cultural program during a given module will be announced at the module welcome dinner. It is also possible to split the group and organize two parallel cultural events so that everybody goes to what he finds most interesting.

Polish language lessons are not obligatory either, and similar to the cultural program are quite entertaining and instructive. The language tutor’s aim is not only to teach you some basic Polish, but also to open for you the world of Polish cinematography, literature, painting, etc. It is also a great occasion to have a coffee together (coffee, tea, and snacks are served during the classes).

Welcome dinners, cultural program events, and Polish language lessons are bonuses that INE PAN provides you with without charging extra money. We are convinced, however, that they are significant elements of our Program and make the latter more rewarding and valuable.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test if you come from a non-English speaking country.

Most European Universities recognise the IELTS test.

Requirements

Candidates should hold an MA or MSc degree (in whatever field or discipline), demonstrate proficiency in the English language, and possess serious business experience. If the above requirements are met, the following documents should be sent to INE PAN via email by those who do not take things for granted in business and management, and like to look deeper into matters they find fascinating: (1) application form (filled up and signed), (2) copy of your MA diploma together with its transcript (if the diploma is issued in any other language than Polish, English or Russian, certified translation should be provided to any of the above languages), (3) CV (Resume) written in English, (4) copy of your passport or official ID (only the page(s) showing your name, picture and passport number). Once we receive the above documents, we will contact you and inform you when the Admission Committee’s decision will be made regarding your application.

The next admissions deadline is February 13, 2012. All accepted delegates will commence their studies in March, 2012 and graduate in January, 2014.

English Language Requirements The language of instruction on the Executive Doctor of Business Administration Program is English. English is also the language of trade negotiations, sales contacts, financial markets and many other business activities across the world. Therefore, candidates are encouraged to have a good command of English in order to actively participate in classes and seminars, discuss with their colleagues, and apply learned skills in their further careers. No proof of English proficiency is required, however. Once you begin your studies you will be able to use our library with a rich collection of books in English. Also, you will receive an electronic access to databases online. There is no doubt that your command of English would significantly improve before you graduated if it was not already perfect at the beginning.

Additional Requirements

Minimal degree required: Master's degree
Minimal amount of work experience 5  years
