The Leaders for Technological Industries program will train a new generation of leaders for companies with a technological profile, and enable a new European paradigm in managing product development and production systems. Students participating in this program will have the ability to foster the innovative application of new knowledge in successful products and/or processes. LTI includes classroom curriculum, industrial internships, time at MIT, and a doctoral thesis. Students will have the opportunity to participate in applied research projects developed under the frame of the EDAM agenda in cooperation with MIT Portugal's Industrial Affiliates program.
LTI graduates will be capable of: 1) leading multidisciplinary teams addressing new and complex challenges in product development and manufacturing operations; 2) planning and managing innovation strategies of technological-based companies; and 3) developing and implementing research programs in industrial environments.
The PhD program comprises a curricular part, industrial internships and a doctoral thesis.
