Student Life

Living on campus is one of the best ways to enjoy university life. You are close to all activities, from lectures to sport to social life. It is a great way to meet lots of new people very easily. You make great friendships, which can last a lifetime. You also have the chance to mix with people of many nationalities as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students.

UL is always alive with social activity. Fresher’s Week is the first event on the social calendar, packed with activities, sports and social events to help students meet each other and find out important information about life on campus.

The UL campus is based around a strong student community. We encourage students to improve their social and intellectual skills through our Campus Life programme. This is a programme of events specially organised for students living in the student villages. It includes; Arts events, Poetry, Drama, Music and Dance, Get to know your neighbour nights, Quiz or Poker nights and Evening talks and lectures on topics such as: the environment, diet & nutrition - exercise, study skills, planning for your career, presentations and stress management.

On Campus Accommodation

UL has five purpose-built student villages which offer high quality accommodation for an all-inclusive fee. There are no extra bills to worry about. All villages on the University of Limerick campus are professionally managed with a residential manager on site and a full maintenance team on hand.

Each student has his/her own room ensuite in attractive 6 bedroom modern apartments, or sharing bathroom facilities in cosy 8/6/4 bedroom terraced houses. The locations are excellent, close to all amenities. Most villages have a communal hall where a programme of activities is organised for students throughout the year. This includes arts events, dance, music, information evenings, games, tournaments and social evenings. These can also be used for group study and student organised events.

Campus residences offer a great opportunity to make new friends. They also offer an excellent study environment in well-designed bedrooms with high speed internet included.

On campus accommodation is a very good option for first years. An allocation of rooms is held for incoming first year students and are available online from January. Rooms are offered on a first come first served basis. Thereafter, online applications are waitlisted. To find out about accommodation costs or to reserve your campus accommodation, visit
