Since October 2007 OTA University is part of the non-profit SRH Group, together with five other private universities, all combined teaching more than 4.000 students. The SRH Group is a service provider for education and health care. Owner of the SRH Group is the SRH Holding, a private foundation domiciled in Heidelberg. CEO of the SRH Holding is Professor Klaus Hekking. CEO of the SRH Hochschule GmbH is the lawyer Christoph Glaser.
Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. mult. Rita Süssmuth, former Federal Minister (1985-1988), President of the German Bundestag (1988-1998) and renowned for her international comparative educational research, international expert for migration and integration, is President of OTA University since 2005.
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Izzet Furgaç, of Turkish nationality and a former graduate and scientific assistant of TU Berlin is contributing valuable experiences as an entrepreneur and industrial businessman to his current position as Vice-President.
The university council´s chairman is Edzard Reuter, former CEO of Daimler Benz AG, son of the prominent former mayor of Berlin, Ernst Reuter. Being an emigrant during the Second World War who received shelter and right of residence in Turkey he has ever since played a major part in advancing German-Turkish relations.
We are a small university with 163 students from 14 different nations. Altogether, 25% of our students are from abroad. The average number of international students at German universities is approximately 10%. We are part of the highly competitive higher education complex in Berlin that is normally charging no tuition fees. At OTA University however, the monthly tuition fee is 700 EUR, we do not have any public subsidies.
Our full-time staff comprises 11 Professors, 4 Visiting Professors and 4 scientific assistants. Furthermore, we employ 18 assistant lecturers with current business backgrounds.
