About

The Theology and Religion PhD program offered at VID Specialized University is intended to prepare students for professional careers in teaching, writing, and scholarship, as well as for leadership opportunities with religious organizations, social service agencies, NGOs, publishing, and in educational institutions.

Overview

Theology and Religion are two distinct scholarly fields which historically represented rather different research perspectives on religious faith.

What you will learn

The Theology and Religion PhD program offered at VID Specialized University is geared towards critical reflection on these traditions and the spectre of methods they represent. As such, the program offers an interdisciplinary context for one's specialized concentration, whether it is sacred texts and their Interpretation, systematic theology, ethics, historical and cultural Studies of religion, or empirical research on religious practice.

Accreditation

The MHS PhD Program is accredited by Norwegian educational authorities, with a “Forskrift”/“Regulations” as the key document.
