Description

The Doctoral School of Society, Space and Technology frames the interdisciplinary research within the interplay between production, technology and society.
Within this frame students are able to specialize themselves within various subjects across these topics.

The doctoral school Society, Space and Technology (SST) work together with the PhD-network on technology and society which include the following departments: DTU Mangement, Department of Development of Society and Planning at Aalborg University, Department of Commercial Studies at Aalborg University and Department of Environmental, Social and Spatial Changes at Roskilde University. The main purpose of the network is to work together when offering the PhD. courses for PhD-students of the Departments in question, together with the professional connected national and international Departments and faculties.
SST also cooperates with the Center for Study in Working Life (Center for Studier i Arbejdsliv - CSA) network. This cooperation includes Aalborg University, Aarhus University, Technical University of Denmark, Copenhagen Business School and Roskilde University. Furthermore SST is in cooperation with The Doctoral Schools of Lifelong Learning (Forskerskolen Lifslang Læring - FILL), Roskilde Unversity.
Finally, SST is part of the Doctoral School research programme Velfærdsstat og Forskellighed which is cooperation between Aalborg University, Roskilde University and Syddansk University.

Prospective PhD students are encouraged to stay updated on the Universitys website, where vacant positions are announced. Applicants must apply according to the terms described in each individual call.

Students who wish to finance their studies themselves should be aware that Denmark is a very expensive country to live in. The tuition fee is app. 80.000 dkk per year and the costs of living in Denmark amount to app. 100.000 dkk per year.

At the moment the University does not offer tuition waivers and students are expected to be able to document their ability to pay tuition fee for all 3 years at the beginning of their studies.
