For the first time in Lithuania four leading European universities have consolidated their scientific potential and launched the Baltic Doctoral Programme in Management and Administration. The Baltic Doctoral Programme is organized by ISM University of Management and Economics, Lithuania, in partnership with BI Norwegian Business School, Norway, Aarhus University, Denmark, and Tartu University, Estonia. The purpose of doctoral studies is to prepare researchers, who will be able to perform research and experimental (social, cultural) expansion activities independently by solving research problems. The doctoral studies have to ensure adequate competence for the person who graduated and obtained PhD, namely, know-how of advanced research paper, research fields and their interaction; specialized skills and techniques for solving research and other field problems as well as for expanding the existing knowledge and professional practice; ability to work independently; and research and profession know-how for new ideas and processes to create and use in the studies and other activities. Doctoral students are invited to do research in the following areas:

* Strategy and marketing
* Consumer behavior
* Finance and risk management
* Higher education strategy
* Change management and organizational development
* Business process management
Study programme (30 ECTS) consists of: Mandatory courses such as:
* Social Research Development and Methodology I - 3 ECTS
* Social Research Development and Methodology II - 6 ECTS
* Philosophy of Science- 3 ECTS
Recommended courses:
* Qualitative Research Methods - 6 ECTS
* Quantitative Research Methods: Multivariate Statistics - 6 ECTS
* Subject of specialization at the partner university - 6 ECTS (Aarhus University, BI Norwegian Business School, Tartu University)
The length of the full-time doctoral studies is 4 years while the part-time studies last 6 years. Doctoral Committee co-ordinates and ensures the quality of the doctoral studies and scientific research. The Committee is composed of 10 researchers. Doctoral Committee organizes the competition of the research topics and supervisors, approves supervisors and programs of doctoral studies, evaluates the research and studies process of doctoral students, makes decisions on the postponement of the terms of the doctoral students program, appoints reviewers of doctoral theses, and sets up councils for thesis defenses.
A complete application pack for admission includes the following materials: 1. Completed application form (in English; according to the form); 2. Masters degree diploma and diploma supplement (submit copies); 3. Applicants who have earned their degrees abroad must submit original notarized translations (into English) of Masters degree diploma and diploma supplement; 4. Applicants who have earned their degree abroad must submit a confirmation by the Lithuanian Centre for Quality Assessment in Higher Education (SKVC) confirming that their Masters degree is comparable to an approved Lithuanian graduate degree (submit copies); 5. Enveloped and sealed recommendations from two scholars (in English; according to the form); 6. Curriculum vitae (CV); 7. Research proposal (in English; according to the form); 8. Motivation letter grounding the reasons of applying to doctoral studies (in English); 9. Proved English language skills (for non-native speakers), which should meet the requirements of Upper Intermediate level or higher. Valid results of TOEFL, IELTS are accepted of the last 2 years; 10. List and copies of publications (if applicable; list of publications in English); 11. 2 photos (3x4 cm); 12. A copy of passport pages containing photo and information about identity; 13. Applicants whose documents presented for admission are issued under different surnames must submit a copy of the document confirming the change. 14. Bank statement showing paid application fee. Applicants will be informed individually regarding the date and time of their interview. Applicants are requested to bring originals of documents Nr. 2, 4, 12 of items listed in application pack form. Early applications are strongly advised. Incomplete application packs shall not be considered.

* Candidate applies for doctoral studies having an external scholarship granted in advance, yet applicants research project must fit in with one of the research areas.

You are normally required to take an English Proficiency Test.
