Overview
This Energetics and Power Engineering programme from Kaunas University of Technology aims to prepare the highly qualified scientists of energetics and power engineering for industry and education institutions.
Doctoral studies of this scientific field are provided in priority research topics:
- Sustainable energy – the effective usage of fossil fuel and primary renewable energy sources in the energy generation systems and technologies, reduction of environmental impact;
- Fundamental and applied research of transfer processes in thermal technologies;
- The simulation and investigation of the smart grid technologies and regimes of the sustainable electric power systems.
Prepared dissertations reflect the peculiarities of the areas of Thermal energetics, Nuclear energetics and Electrical energetics.
Accreditation
Right to doctoral studies acquired in cooperation with the Lithuanian Energy Institute. Right to doctoral studies approved by the order No. V-1124 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania of 21 June 2011.

- Application indicating the science field, the topic and the form of funding (online);
- Official legalised Master’s diploma with the diploma supplement or a higher education degree equivalents and academic transcripts (translated into English or Lithuanian and notary verified) and the certificate of recognition if higher education qualification acquired abroad;
- Curriculum Vitae;
- Recommendations by two researchers of the relevant science field;
- A list of the research works with a full bibliographic description and copies thereof;
- A written motivation letter;
- A copy of a valid personal document: a passport (for citizens of all countries) or an ID card (only for citizens of the European Union);
- A copy of the receipt of the application fee payment
- A certificate issued by IELTS, TOEFL, CERF or any other competent institution
