The London - Loughborough Centre for Doctoral Research in Energy Demand brings together two leading energy research universities, , who together have the expertise to equip graduates with the knowledge and skills to take on senior roles in academia, industry, commerce and policy formulation. It also links two regions with vibrant and expanding activity in the energy and built environment arena.
We aim to create a unique vibrant, student-focussed environment. Students will join large and active research groups, supporting a wide range of research projects. We also aim to create an environment in which energy researchers, industry and the next generation of energy pioneers can interact.
Both have a commitment to cross-faculty collaboration in energy research that enables the centre to offer truly innovative, multi-disciplinary training.

This rapidly expanding group has 10 academic staff, 5 research associates and 19 PhD students and includes the Director of the Sustainability Research School. The SRS harnesses energy expertise from across the Universitys many academic disciplines, especially ergonomics, the social sciences, economics and the Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technology.
The Loughborough branch of the London - Loughborough Centre for doctoral research in energy demand is based in the Department of Civil and Building Engineering.
