Hanken, founded in 1909, is a leading, internationally accredited (Equis and AMBA) university in the field of economics and business administration. Hanken excels four research domains: finance and statistics, intellectual property law, management and organisation, and service and relationship marketing and management. Hanken has campuses in Helsinki and in Vaasa. Hanken has almost 12000 alumni working in over 60 countries all over the world. Alumni include CEOs of several listed companies. Hanken provides a forum for personal career management skills assessment and acquisition and acts as a recruitment platform for global firms. Students enrolled in a regular degree programme at Hanken pay no tuition fees.

HANKEN is well known for its international orientation, its creation of new knowledge, its internationally competitive graduates and its close interaction with the global academic and business communities.

Accreditations

Hanken was awarded the EQUIS accreditation in 2000. The accreditation was renewed in 2005 and 2008. The Hanken MBA was awarded the AMBA accreditation in 2008. The accreditation was awarded for five year, which is the maximum length.

Services

Foreign students who come to Finland for the purpose of studies are not entitled to student financial aid from Finland.

All degree students at Hanken are responsible for arranging their accommodation themselves. Unfortunately Hanken cannot provide any assistance in this matter. Students in Helsinki can often get student housing through HOAS, the Foundation for Student Housing in the Helsinki Region. In Vaasa, the students can usually get student housing through The Student Housing Foundation in Vaasa, VOAS.

All Master's Degree students who have paid their Student Union membership fee are entitled to use the full range of services of the Finnish Student Health Service (FSHS).

Hanken offers a limited number of scholarships for international master's degree students. The scholarship amount is EUR 6000 per year for two years (EUR 12 000 in total).
