About

Since 1914 we have offered vocationally inspired education relevant for the age. Back then our focus was on mining and ceramics. But times have changed and we have too. Now we’re delivering everything from Computer Games Design to Forensic Science.

Our vision and values are the foundation of Staffordshire University; it’s how we do things. That’ll never change.

Our vision is to create a vibrant and dynamic edge of city campus with brilliant learning and teaching facilities, good public transport links and social activities.

Teaching Faculties that have been previously split over two campuses will come together resulting in a more concentrated investment in facilities. There will be major upgrades to teaching and social spaces. We’ve already invested more than £40m in transforming the campus and making the University Quarter a truly inspiring place to live and study. This will continue.

This area will continue to grow - so make sure you've got it bookmarked.

On campuses

Going out is as much a part of your student experience as attending lecturers. Here's a quick guide to what's at our main campuses.

Stoke Campus

Ember Lounge

The main Students' Union venue for food and drink on our College Road Campus. Morning, noon and night, you'll find it's at the centre of campus life. You can duck in for a coffee between lectures, grab a bite at lunch and get your evening started with a round of drinks. It also has two large projection screens showing the major sporting fixtures, and a packed calendar of events including karaoke and quiz nights.

LRV

Just across campus from Ember is the LRV [Leek Road Venue]. With a capacity of 1,550, it's the Students' Union biggest space. Gobble, which kicks off at 9pm each Wednesday, is the best attended night - though Super Friday runs it a close second.

Verve

Connected to LRV is Verve, Stoke's newest venue. By day it offers milkshakes freshly made subs and pizzas from an authentic pizza oven; by night, it serves as a chill-out area for LRV, and is open until the early hours.

Stafford

The Lounge

Stafford’s number one location for food and drink throughout the day and evening. A recent refurbishment of the venue has seen new furniture, flooring and lighting installed, plus a five-metre HD projector screen to watch films or play computer games.

Other Room

Next door to The Lounge is the Other Room, a quieter space where you can relax or challenge your friends at pool, air hockey or a number of video games.

Legends

Legends, the club on our Stafford campus, is best known for Mukky Duck - the name of a themed night each Friday, and the 8ft fuzzy bird who hosts it. Past events have included toga, superhero and pyjama parties, and there are always games on stage as well as prize giveaways.

The Global Study Awards

Together with the ISIC Association and British Council IELTS, StudyPortals offers you the chance to receive up to £10000 to expand your horizon and study abroad. We want to ultimately encourage you to study abroad in order to experience and explore new countries, cultures and languages.
